The patient came in with complaints of bleeding gums while brushing, gum swelling and redness, and bad breath.
Diagnosis and treatment
The clinical examination revealed significant dental deposits (supra- and subgingival) and gum inflammation.
Periodontal probing was performed:
- periodontal pockets were detected;
- bleeding on probing;
- signs of attachment loss.
Restoration and result
The patient was referred to a periodontist for:
- in-depth periodontal treatment;
- curettage of periodontal pockets (as indicated);
- stabilization of periodontal condition and maintenance therapy.
Gum inflammation was reduced, and the main etiological factors (dental deposits) were eliminated. Conditions were created for further specialized treatment and stabilization of periodontitis.
