Treatment of multiple caries
The patient came in for a preventive check-up. The examination revealed multiple pigmented fissures and initial carious lesions in several chewing teeth.
Diagnosis and treatment
Multiple fissure caries of the molars and premolars was clinically diagnosed.
The working field was isolated with a rubber dam to ensure full dryness and infection control. Gentle removal of the affected tissues was performed with maximum preservation of healthy tooth structure, and the cavities were medically treated.
Restoration and result
A layered artistic reconstruction was performed using modern photopolymer materials, recreating the natural anatomy of the chewing surfaces, fissures and correct occlusal contacts.
The carious lesions were completely eliminated, and the chewing function and natural relief of the teeth were restored. The restorations are tight, aesthetic, and provide long-lasting protection against recurring caries.
