About me

A short video and my story – my approach to treatment and patient comfort

I am a dental hygienist and have been working in the profession since 2019. I focus on the factors that determine whether a patient will need treatment: professional hygiene, prevention of caries and gum disease, and teaching proper home care.

I work according to the Guided Biofilm Therapy protocol — first, I stain the plaque to see exactly where it has built up and show this to the patient. Only then do I remove the biofilm, tartar, and stains, selecting the power and tips based on the condition of the gums. This approach is gentler on the enamel than traditional "by eye" scaling and immediately shows the patient what they need to work on.

I perform all procedures using dental loupes. Magnification allows me to spot deposits in places that are easy to miss — at the gumline, between teeth, and around orthodontic brackets — and work with greater precision.

I also handle whitening — both in-office and take-home with custom-made trays — and the treatment of early-stage caries using the ICON method, without the need for drilling. I look after orthodontic patients, including those treated with Invisalign, where hygiene determines the condition their teeth will be in once treatment ends.

Children are a special focus of my work. I conduct adaptation visits, fissure sealing, and fluoride varnish treatments, and I teach proper brushing techniques so that the first dental visit is not associated with stress.

I place great importance on personalized instruction: I select the toothbrush, toothpaste, floss, interdental brushes, and irrigator best suited to the specific situation in the patient's mouth. I train regularly — I have completed over 30 courses and conferences, and I recently joined the Prevention and Health Promotion Section of the Polish Dental Society.

I know that for many people a visit to the dentist is stressful, so I make an effort to explain every stage and work calmly, including with patients who are anxious about treatment.

I speak:
Polish, Ukrainian, and Russian.

Frequently asked questions

What does professional teeth cleaning involve?

This is a procedure usually made up of three stages: scaling, which removes tartar with ultrasound, air polishing, which removes plaque and stains from the tooth surface, and a fluoride treatment that strengthens the enamel. I work according to the GBT protocol, so I start by staining the plaque — this shows exactly where it has built up, so nothing gets missed.

How long does professional teeth cleaning take?

Usually from 45 minutes to an hour. The time depends on the amount of tartar and plaque — the first visit after a long gap takes longer, while regular visits every six months are much shorter.

Do air polishing and scaling damage the enamel?

No. The ultrasonic scaler removes tartar without harming the enamel, and air polishing works with a fine powder under water pressure and is safe for tooth tissue. What matters is choosing the right power and tip for the condition of the gums — which is why the procedure should be done by a trained specialist. Teeth may be more sensitive for 1–2 days after the procedure, which is normal and passes on its own.

How often should you have teeth cleaned?

Every 6 months as standard. More often — every 3–4 months — for people with gum disease, smokers, those who drink a lot of coffee and tea, and orthodontic patients, where plaque builds up around the brackets much faster.

Is fluoride treatment safe?

Yes. The products used at the clinic have a controlled fluoride concentration and are applied topically to the tooth surface, not swallowed. Fluoride is absorbed into the enamel and increases its resistance to acids, which genuinely reduces the risk of decay. The treatment is also safe for children — the dose is adjusted to their age.

What's the difference between fissure sealing and fluoride varnish?

Fissure sealing means filling the grooves on the chewing surfaces of the molars with a sealant — it protects spots a toothbrush can't reach, and is done once the tooth has erupted. Fluoride varnish means coating the teeth with a fluoride product that strengthens the enamel and is repeated every few months. The first is a mechanical barrier, the second is chemical reinforcement.

Where do tooth stains come from, and can they be removed?

Most often from coffee, tea, red wine, cigarettes and certain mouthwashes. Surface stains, sitting on top of the tooth, are removed during air polishing — the result is visible right away. If the tooth itself is discoloured from the inside, whitening is needed, and for developmental discolouration — ICON infiltration.
